I feel like I should be able to pull up the app and print at any time but unfortunately when the printer isn’t in use it disconnects from my wifi for whatever reason (even though I have the wifi password saved to the printer).
Getting this printer to connect to my wifi and stay connected has been an absolute nightmare. I do a lot of printing so I’ll be refilling it probably daily. I was also discouraged to see just how small the paper tray was. Just ok… Epson is a brand I trust and have used for several years so I was excited to give this new eco tank a try because it has a smaller footprint than the epson I currently use and it is lightweight which makes it easy to move around if needed.

This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-2850 Wireless Color Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. In the 2 weeks we have had it, we have printed 200+ pages and this little champ is likely to be our long term go to family printer in a small apartment. My wife and kids are happy with this unit. Ill is cheap and plentiful doing away with overpriced cartridges of old (or refilling, god what a messy nightmare that used to be). Auto duplex is a hugely beneficial feature in a compact machine. Quality of prints is well above average for an inkjet. Also good in a small business environment at one person's desk (if for scanning) or amongst users IF volume of printing is low. Great unit for home users and home offices. The body of the email (chain) will print as well as doc/pdf attachments automatically. You can use that email address to send emails that will automatically print. You can setup an account on epson which assigns a unique epson email to the printer. Again, this is the one features lacking in this unit

They could have at least allowed scan to PDF with email to yourself. Literally the only thing I could find to complain about. You can't scan to the network (preset locations ie computer/folder) like you can with my standalone Epson page feed, auto duplex scanner. Scanning must be done connected to a computer via USB. Here is where the ONLY downside to this unit comes in. Scan quality is great, copy feature replicates pages quickly and with utmost quality.

Wireless printing from Mac and iOS devices is flawless and a breeze. Shocking to have built in for such a small inkjet. Very crisp, no lines, no overspray (saturated paper), no under spray. color (lots) takes 15-20 sec for a page B/W shoots out a page every 5-6 seconds Once it's on your network, any computer or tablet can/will see it. Walked me through everything from power, alignment, ink loading and network setup. First time I've setup a printer this way and let me say it was simple and went flawlessly. You Can also opt to setup wirelessly through the epson mobile app. The CD contains the software, to it can be found on You can setup connected directly to a computer via standard USB printer cable.
Bravo on the packaging design and attention to detail. The unit was well packaged, not worried about potential damage. It's quieter than most ink jets, the print quality is fantastic and its wireless (makes life a breeze). The ink is an absolute breeze to load and not a drop comes off from the bottles when you take them out. The scanner (and copy feature) are great quality, it prints fast (especially b/w). The paper tray is adequate sized for any home or small office use. Build quality is good, interface is small but easy to navigate. It's incredibly compact, it has a nice finish/look. I've had inkjet, normal and large format, regular and photo printers. One of the best AIO printers for the money I've had more printers over the years than most home users. Jammed paper was an recurring issue with my old printer so I definitely like that I can print double sided documents without fear. It is great for someone who has no patience. There is no need to flip the page manually. The printing speed is fast and printing double sided documents did not jam the printer. Also, it was a breeze to link the printer to my wifi in the app. Once set up was completed, I was notified on my phone. My husband and I both love being able to see the amount of ink. I appreciate that the ink bottles were vacuum sealed so there is no chance of the ink leaking during delivery. It took about 15 minutes and it was frustration-free. It was very easy to set up the printer with the QR code, which was provided on both instructions and printer screen. It doesn’t take up much space so it’s perfect for small home office.
